PPR005: "Anthems From The Phantom"

A year on from its inception and the Sheffield-based label Phantom Power Records is going from strength to strength. After releasing material by local talents including RepoMen, Screaming Mimi and The Balor Knights, Phantom Power now spreads its wings further, bringing you the compilation album "Anthems from the Phantom".

Phantom Power Records: PPR005

It lays out a blueprint for the label's future direction by bringing you a number of dark, twisted and off-kilter indie-pop gems on this varied compilation. From the labels roster there's the retro-indie delights of RepoMen, the chaotic noise-pop of Balor Knights and the dark surf-tones of the delightful Screaming Mimi.

The LP also introduces a number of new acts including the scuzzy Pixies-driven pop of The Interiors, the fantastic indie troubadour that is Pete Green, the shoe-gazing soundscapes of Newcastle's Deltasound and the quirky euphonium-botherers The Hatrack Hangers.
